Question: I'm thinking of trying to buy a hyundai elantra...?
(Posted by: savoytruffle80 on 2010-02-08 02:48:32)
It is a used car, year 2006, with 22, 600 miles and is $7, 995. Does that sounds like a good deal. I had a rental car a couple years ago. In 2007 I rented a Hyundai Sonata (full- size car) and took it 1/ 3 across the country and back. Good little car. Hyundai Elantra is an intermediate sized car. I don't know... is that Japanese or Korean? I think it sounds like a decent deal. Good mileage too. The pictures look good. I might go test drive it this week. Thoughts? Car experts out there? |

Hyundai is a South Korean car company. The Elantra is a decent automobile and that is certainly low mileage for a 4 year old car. Take it for a test spin and see how you like it. If you like the feel of it and decide to go for it, make sure to have a pre-sale inspection performed at a shop or dealer or YOUR choice. Spending a few bucks now on a pre-purchase inspection can save you hundreds, possibly even thousands of dollars on unanticipated repairs. |

Well the figures seem nice but it depends if car has not met any accidents or has suffered some great damage.....check for all that and if u cant ....take a mechanic with u for inspection.... |

The Elantra is a good car and well worth considering. It's impossible to give you an accurate appraisal without actually seeing the car first hand. The price seems a bit on the high side depending on which trim line if it's an automatic. It's probably at least $1,000 too high if it's a manual. |

$8k for a 4 year old Hyundai? Are you NUTS???? It's not even worth $6k. Hyundai is more reliable than American cars but still far behind the Japanese. Only reason to buy a Hyundai is its low price thanks in part to their horrible resale value. You will find lower prices here: autotrader.com/ fyc/ searchresults.jsp?lastStartYear= 1981 &num_records= 25 &search_lang= en &page_location= findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform &search_type= both &distance= 0 &address= 10001 &marketZipError= false &style_flag= 1 &make= HYUND &model= ELANTR &make2= &start_year= 2006 &end_year= 2011 &min_price= 1 &max_price= 6000 &seller_type= b &transmission= &engine= &drive= &doors= &fuel= &max_mileage= &color= &keywordsrep= &keywordsfyc= &keywords_display= &sort_type= priceDESC &body_code= 0 &certified= &advanced= &highlightFirstMakeModel= &showZipError= y &default_sort= priceDESC &awsp= false &systime= &rdm= 1265636081069 Better yet, look for Hondas. Plenty of good ones for $8k. |
