Hyundai Elantra Supersite

Question: 2005 hyundai elantra does not get heat while iding just luke warm air,but driving it ,it gets heat.?

Check the coolant level, the symptoms sound like you are low on coolant. If the coolant level is not low, then trying replacing the thermostat (very cheap).

The heater gets it's heat by blowing air through a small radiator with the engine's coolant circulating through it under your dash board. If the engine's coolant is not hot, the air won't be very hot. Driving makes more excess heat, making the coolant nice and hot. You could replace the coolant thermostat with a higher temperature one, raising the coolant temp.

You have an air pocket in the heater core. Remove the radiator cap, top up the coolant, turn the climate control to the hottest setting, run motor for 15 minutes to get up to operating temperature, rev motor to 2,500 rpm while at the same time squeezing the upper radiator hose. When the air bubbles stop check the temperature at idle. It should be hotter than before and get a little hotter while driving.
