today the engine of my car started smoking and so i had to pull over and get a tow truck to take it to the place i got it. if its not under warranty how much would it cost to get it fixed or replaced. the cop said hes pretty sure thats the probem because it was cracked and had no fluid in it? which also didnt make much sense b.c i thought they would have done that when i got my car checked?...help?no i bought it used and have had it for over a year. got my oil changed at lube works and they also tell you what needs to be done and filled and they will do it but they didnt tell me ANYTHING about the coolant being low and i dno why they wouldnt have seen that when they said it was filled

Broke timing belt yesterday while driving, pulled valve cover today and found all the shims contacting cam lobes on all the exhaust valves, but none of the shims were touching any of the cam lobes on the intake side, on all intake valves there was a 1 8 gap between shim and lobe , so I am asking with the same gap ibetween the shim and lobe did I bend all 8 intake valves?
Hyundai Elantra head gasket is burnt. Need to repair it.?
A couple of months ago I burnt the head gasket of my 2002 Hyundai elantra GLS. I consulted 2 3 repair shops and got a quote of 1500 2000 dollars. I feel that its a bi price to pay. The car has 85K miles on it.Any recommendations? Should i check for a used engine?

Why is my car alarm going off at random? ('07 Hyundai Elantra)?
My car alarm has gone off several times today, for seemingly no reason at all. I have a keyless remote, and have been able to " shut it up" with that.....but it's rather odd for it to just go off this often 3 times today . I can't think of any reasons it'd be happening it's cold out today, very windy at times.....? The car was unlocked and locked with the remote the first time it went off, then I manually unlocked and locked the car with the key the latter 2 times. Is this perhaps a keyless remote issue low battery, or malfunction , some exterior influence affecting the car.....or something wrong in the car?

It is a used car, year 2006, with 22,600 miles and is $7,995.Does that sounds like a good deal. I had a rental car a couple years ago. In 2007 I rented a Hyundai Sonata full size car and took it 1 3 across the country and back. Good little car. Hyundai Elantra is an intermediate sized car. I don't know... is that Japanese or Korean?I think it sounds like a decent deal. Good mileage too. The pictures look good. I might go test drive it this week.Thoughts? Car experts out there?
